I turned 28 a couple months ago. It’s interesting being here when I had envisioned my life looking different. At this point in my life, societal expectations imposed on me are to own a house and car, be engaged/married, have achieved some level of financial freedom, and be comfortably settled in a job or be promoted to a higher position. Long behold, I have none of the aforementioned. But I’ve been realizing that I have so much more than can be quantified by those metrics and that I’m truly happy.

I very much consider myself a driven, “type-a” person. I love checking off boxes in the form of life “milestones” to feel successful. I’ve been realizing, however, that what you envisioned for your life becomes fluid as you progress through life. My 20s thus far has been exactly that — a journey of discovering life’s answers, guided by reading and reflecting, reevaluating my beliefs, and journaling to articulate my inner dialogue.

Now that I’ve spent an insurmountable amount of time in my early and mid-20s learning about myself and binging books/podcasts in my best attempt to comprehend life, my purpose in life has now shifted to encouraging others to live out a life of meaning through what I’ve learned.
